Our territory is our greatest asset. The environment is our guarantee. Let’s respect it — every step of the way: Garda Trentino Trail and its commitment to the territory through the Eco Eventi Trentino certification.
Garda Trentino Trail has started the process to obtain the Eco Eventi Trentino certification, awarded by the Agenzia Provinciale per la Protezione dell’Ambiente (APPA). For us, and for our philosophy, this is both a necessary and meaningful step — a way to further promote awareness of the importance of protecting our environment above all else. Our home, and the stage for both our races and yours.
This step will require a few small adjustments from all of us and from every athlete, but these will soon become real opportunities.
As a result, from Friday, May 15 to Sunday, May 17, you will find:
-
Water supplied exclusively from the local aqueduct system at refreshment stations and the pasta party;
-
Elimination of single-use portions;
-
Reusable tableware to reduce waste (even compostable products often require degradation times that are too long for certain composting facilities, forcing them into residual waste);
-
As little printed communication material as possible;
-
A pasta party prepared with ingredients sourced from the Trentino supply chain;
-
Recycling stations for disposing of waste properly and maximizing recycling;
-
No disposable cups at refreshment stations, including the final one. Participants will be able to use their own cup, mandatory according to the race regulations. At the end of the race, every athlete will receive our exclusive reusable cup as a gift.
Our menu will include:
-
Pasta Felicetti with tomato sauce or plain with Garda Trentino extra virgin olive oil — also available gluten-free for celiac participants;
-
Cabbage salad;
-
Hard-boiled eggs from Azienda Agricola Mas dei Preti in Cavedine;
-
Trentino cheese by Latte Trento;
-
Traditional Trentino apple strudel — with a gluten-free dessert option available for celiac participants.
- Available to everyone: a water dispenser tower connected to the aqueduct system, providing still or sparkling water, cold or at room temperature.
In addition, to help prevent food waste, we kindly ask you to:
-
Inform staff when collecting your meal if you do not wish to receive certain ingredients;
-
Request a takeaway container if you would like to bring home any unfinished food;
-
Avoid waste at all times, from bib collection to departure. But we are confident this is already part of all our everyday habits.
