ARCO (GARDA TRENTINO), 20TH MARCH 2020 – On hold, but ready to start again. Even with more passion. The organizers of Garda Trentino Trail (whose 5th edition is planned on May 16th 2020) have a daily monitoring of the sanitary emergency affecting Italy and whole Europe, in order to understand the developments according to the information provided by the Authority.

 “In this hard time for everybody, while “on hold”, it helps us to think that in 2 months this situation could get better – as the President Matteo Paternostro is telling us -  It’s a sort of “positive thinking that could help us during these days full of uncertainty. Days of quarantine, hold at home. The Authority will in the end decide about the development of this situation and all related consequences: from our side, we think positive and, at the right time, we will be ready to start again. “Think positive” could be helpful for our soul and to this aim we are launching an invitation to the supporters and participants of all editions of Garda Trentino Trail to share on our Social their precious moments and memories related to Garda Trentino Trail”.

The 5th edition 2020 will offer the route from Riva to Arco (every year the route is switching arrival/departure locations), starting from Riva del Garda, along the Garda Lake and arriving in Arco, after 60 km and 3500 m altitude gain, passing through the Ledro and Tenno lakes, through the “ sentiero della Pace” path (Ledro Alps), suspended between the Alto Garda Trentino and Brenta Dolomites.

Together with the long distance 60km, the race package includes as well the Ledro Trail (42km, 2400m altitude gain, starting from Ledro), the Tenno Trail (30km, 1500m altitude gain, starting from Tenno) and the new entry  Garda Trentino Run (11km, 600m altitude gain, starting from Arco),  with arrival for all 4 races  located in Arco.

THE NUMBERS – Just after 3 editions, Garda Trentino Trail could exceed a total number of 1000 participants, with a constant growth started in 2016, when the organizers tried to offer a challenging race located in a rich natural environment with high touristic attraction. These facts are also related to the high number of foreigner participants on all the distances.

And the same is for Garda Trentino Xmas Trail, the winter edition of the race (30km, 1200m altitude gains) that since 3 years has introduced us to Christmas and last year involved more than 800 runners.

THE ROUTE – The longest race, 60 km, will start from Riva del Garda, on the lake front that was so precious to Gabriele D'Annunzio and will proceed then of the Ponale path, the 1st connection way in the history between the North Garda Lake and the Ledro Valley and today offered as a suggestive path with international attractive.

Once reached the river of Ledro Lake and its pile-dwelling archeological area, runners will climb then to Bocca Saval to reach the highest point of the whole route, at approx. 1.700 m, proceeding then through the “ Sentiero della Pace” path up to “Bocca di Trat” area, near to the Pernici Hut. After a long downhill, they will reach Tenno, its Lake and its medieval villages – whose most famous is Canale, one of the most beautiful and well preserved among whole Europe. They will then climb again, passing close to the top of Calino Mountain and to the San Pietro Hut, a natural balcony on the beauty of Garda Trentino, reaching then the top of Biaina Mountain and after the last challenging downhill that will finish in the earth of Arco they will reach the finishline.
