Local favorite Marco Gubert and Irish star Emma Stuart delivered a remarkable performance by winning the Garda Trentino Trail Extra 100.
Diego Angella completed a hat trick by claiming victory in the 62-kilometer Garda Trentino Trail for the third consecutive year, on a day that also saw Swiss runner Melanie Delasoie shine over the same distance.
The 42-kilometer Ledro Trail had an Italian-German winning duo, thanks to Jacopo Barbieri and Eva Kiggen, while the Tenno Trail was dominated by Italy, with Italo Cassol and Francesca Rusconi crossing the finish line first.
These are the headline names of the 11th edition of the Garda Trentino Trail, the trail running event that attracted nearly 1,900 participants to the paths of the Upper Garda area and the Ledro Valley.
Sunday will feature the final race of an action-packed weekend: the Garda Trentino Castle Run, contested over an 11-kilometer course that includes two passages through the Castello di Arco, marking ten years to go until the 2026 European Mountain Running Championships.
The race will start at 10:00 a.m. and promises to be highly competitive, with top athletes such as Italian champion Isacco Costa, leading contenders Nadir Maguet and Andrea Rostan, and women’s frontrunners Martina Falchetti and Alessia Scaini.
A total of 250 athletes are expected on the starting line, setting a new participation record for the race.
